Socially Signified talk at the BLANK Gallery

01Dec09

Here are some images from the Socially Signified talk we attended at the BLANK gallery in Portslade as part of the It’s All About Paradise 2 exhibition.

The talk focused on reappropriation and the value of the copy which is important when thinking about the reproduction of art and the simulacrum.

I particularly liked the ad-hoc feel of the work in the space which seemed to suit the overall premise of the show. The BLANK gallery has already had another show since this and seems to have a busy schedule and it’s local so it’s definately one to watch.

I’d like to thank the guest artist/speakers for their wonderful hospitality and for showing work which was both challenging and engaging.
